Tidings of comfort and joy…

A miracle has happened in this house. Christmas has, indeed, come early. Glowing, happy faces all around. Smiles for all. Conversations in the hallway.

The heating has been fixed – the house is warm!!!!!! (Indeed hot. A steaming, thermal wonderland.)

Had you ever really appreciated the impact on mood of sitting in your own home in four heavy layers of clothes?? Of wearing the Ugg boots indoors rather than out? Of everyone crowding into one room because none of the others has an independent heat source?

Press me hard enough and I’ll tell you all about it!!

But now – that is all in the past. A general feeling of health and well being has suffused us all. We can speak to each other without chattering teeth. We are not each jealously guarding our hot water-bottles on the settee. We are delighted to be basking in Carribean temperatures in whichever nook or cranny of the house we wish to escape to. We do not need to bark recrimination when a door is inadvertently left open.

Glory Hallelujah as they say at this time of year!

Mind you –  a minor caveat has arisen. The heating does not now switch off!! But we are not ungrateful enough to complain about this just yet!

So – now I feel we are just about ready to partake of some Christmas cheer with the rest of the world!!

About xtrekki

OK - I've been doing this for almost a year now and have still not mastered the mysteries of blogging!! WHAT are widgets? What are tags? Where on the dashboard do I find them or an explanation of how I can get them to work for me? In other aspects of my life I am fairly sharp. I could certainly be advisor to Hercule Poirot in unraveling his most impenetrable of cases. So - why oh why can I not figure out how to manage this bloomin' blog???????

Love your Santa train and the thoughts if hearing that does not turn off. Heaven.

After phoning gas heating fitter on Saturday morning, crying delighted thanks to him, I have had to phone him this morning again. He’ll be back here this evening. Probably thinks this is his only route home!

Looking forward to hearing from you...often!
