It’s cold, miserable weather. Rain, gail force wind, cloud. Akin to autumn.
IT Expert is camping this weekend. Having packed the car with three friends, himself and gear to fit out the army of a small country, he has headed off to Derby, to a LARP event, to join a field full of like minded hardy souls all living a modified dungeons and dragons scenario.
London Lass has her first real visitor over. She’ll be doing the shows, the sights, the restaurants. Exploring the young set scene.
Like her brother, she will be undeterred by the temperature and weather conditions.
Meanwhile at home, that comfortable haven they have so easily/thanklessly abandoned, we are sitting freezing! The new heating system so optimistically purchased just before Christmas has stopped working. There is no fall back position. No immersion heater. No solid fuel fire. A small blow heater, relic of previous heating disasters, makes little impact on the bone chilling cold of the bathroom, let alone the rest of the house.
We don’t have a tent. (Nor the inclination to run madly about a field to keep ourselves warm!!!) London Lass’s new place is too small to accommodate a crowd.
It appears that, this weekend, we may, indeed, be forced towards high end socialization. For anyone out there who may take pity on us – we can be quite entertaining for a few hours (in exchange for a warm room to sit in and a bathroom with hot water to wash our hands!)
Offers warmly (sic) invited!!!
Come round! I may well be slobbing around in pyjamas, but it’s warm 🙂 The food won’t be what you’re used to though…
That sound such a comforting invitation!!! Can we make it a pyjama party?? We’ll bring the crisps!!As for food – we’re only used to eating when there’re guests!!
