There´re dancers on at the moment. They´re actually very good but the outfits (as of African natives etc) are somewhat off-putting. Mind you – almost every guest in the hotel is here!

Last night there was dancing – sort of world middle-of-the-road. You get the picture – Macarena, and more. But the thing about it was that everyone who got up to dance (sub-text – that excluded our lot!) was very good!! Unlikely looking dancers though they may have seemed when we first saw them around the pool or down at dinner, they surprised us all by being mighty nimble on their toes!

And- what was even more unexpected – was that the men were unembarassed to be dancing and enjoying it!!!

We´re so used here to blokes being too macho to enjoy a bit of a boogie or to move fluidly, freely to the music that we sort of think it´s their natural physical make-up to be stiff and look like zombies locked in the grip of a psychotic episode.

So it was good to realise that machismo can have a more sensual face. Of course – all the blokes on the dance floor last night were Mediterraneans!!!

About xtrekki

OK - I've been doing this for almost a year now and have still not mastered the mysteries of blogging!! WHAT are widgets? What are tags? Where on the dashboard do I find them or an explanation of how I can get them to work for me? In other aspects of my life I am fairly sharp. I could certainly be advisor to Hercule Poirot in unraveling his most impenetrable of cases. So - why oh why can I not figure out how to manage this bloomin' blog???????
