I have a long journey to work. And a long journey home again. Affording time to indulge a favourite pastime – listening to radio 4. (In fact, when test driving new cars, the most important feature to me was that there be a state of the art radio and CD player! Mind you – such features came at a price I was not really that willing to pay, so I compromised – I accepted a reliable machine in a driveable car!)
Anyway. The other day, as I was driving along, the talk was of the changes to advertizing patterns resulting from the revolution in communication networks. Specifically the widespread use of social networking sites. The example was given that the advertizers will survey the top reaching bloggers, make contact and, where they have products to sell or shows to review, will forward to these bloggers free samples or tickets and await the favourable reviews.
This is probably all absolutely basic to experienced bloggers. But to a mere initiate such as myself, it’s a revelation!! To think that I just have to send a link to two thousand of my closest friends and ask them to subscribe, and then forward to two thousand of their friends, asking that they also subscribe to this, and then I’m in with a chance of being sent a free ticket to the Lyric some night in mid August!!! I’m going to start now!!!
