It’s 21.09, Thursday night. I’m not long in from work. Our (now-employed) boy got home @ 18.00 he says. Hasn’t eaten yet. Now – that would usually mean doing the carnivore feast. But, against all the odds, I have successfully reached day three of the Carol Vordeman 28 Day Detox diet, in preparation for uncovering/parading my miserable physique by a Mediterranean beachfront in three weeks time. I want to be sylph like, I dream of looking fit, tanned, relaxed – all those things which, naturally, require a size six body. I’ve managed to cut right down to two cups of coffee a day (Carol doesn’t insist that it’s cut out immediately – she allows for weaning off it). I’m having more difficulty with the red wine, but am getting there. I’m not taking the meat nor other animal produce and have cut out wheat. To cook proper food to suit someone not on this crazy, vegan diet would be utter torture! Is it too much to ask that, for one night, he could live with a couple of bowls of cereal???!
